Ready to Share Your Story?

Hi Reader,

Over the past two weeks you thought about one photo and maybe even answered one of the story behind the photo prompts I sent along. Today I'm inviting you to do one more thing with it, only if you want to.

I put up a post in our private Facebook group where you can drop that photo and its story, right alongside everyone else who wants to join in. Share your photo and story here.

I want to be clear about where this lives. Our group is private, so only our members can see what gets posted there. This is separate from The Photo Managers' own public campaign, the one that asks people to sign a release before their photo goes anywhere public. Nothing you post in our group leaves our group or is visible to anyone outside the group on Facebook.

Posting is completely optional, and that's exactly how I want it to stay. This whole thing is meant to be fun, a chance to see each other's memories and maybe get a little teary together.

I'll be dropping my own photo in the comments too, maybe even from the same ten grocery bags I told you about a couple weeks ago. A few of their stories have come back to me since, and I'd love to hear yours too.

Warmly,
Fancy

P.S. Our free Memory Makers Meetup is Wednesday, September 2nd at 11am. Bring a photo if you'd like to talk through its story out loud. Save your spot here.

Hi Reader, Last week’s email was all about mystery photos and the names that slip away when nobody writes them down. This week, I want to make the writing-down part easy. 📝 If you’ve ever held a photo in one hand and a pen in the other, wondering whether you were about to ruin it, this one’s for you. Plenty of us grew up labeling photos with whatever was in the junk drawer. Ballpoint pens, felt-tip pens and sticky notes all made their way onto the backs of family snapshots, and I won’t tell...

Hi Reader, Somewhere in your collection, there's probably a photo of someone nobody can name. Maybe it's a young woman in a cloche hat standing next to your grandmother, or a row of cousins squinting into the sun at a picnic. You've likely flipped past it a dozen times, meaning to ask about it someday. October is Family History Month, which makes this a good week to pull that photo back out. 📸 For a lot of us, those chances showed up quietly, years ago. An aunt mentioned over Thanksgiving...

Hi Reader, Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days start this coming Tuesday, October 6th, and run through Wednesday the 7th. Some early deals are already showing up, so you've probably seen a scanner or hard drive flash across your screen at a price that made you pause. Before you hit that button, there's one question I'd love for you to ask yourself. It only takes a minute, and it can keep a great deal from turning into a drawer full of regret. Here it is: what job do I need this to do in my...
